April Fool's

By Terri Whitman © 4-1-00

March in Hawaii had gone by with only normal activity resulting in a rare free weekend for Hawaii's State Police Unit, Five-0. This allowed Dan Williams and Kono Kalakaua to have time off to enjoy one of their favorite pass time, surfing. Late winter storms, still coming from the north, had brought high waves surfers loved.

Parking his car on the side of the road, Dan and Kono gathered their boards in preparation of enjoying the challenge the larger waves. "You know Kono, Wednesday is April 1st and you know what that means, April Fool's Day," Dan mentioned as they walked towards the beach.

"Yeah, I'm almost dreading going into the office on that day. I wonder what type of trick our boss has thought up for us this year?" Kono replied as he pulled his surf board of the top of the car.

"And, who is it going played on this year. Last year he got Chin," Dan said smiling.

Steve McGarrett, not one to played tricks during the rest of the year, had a habit of waiting until April Fool's Day to play them out. Heaven help the person whom the prank was played on during that faithful day. Last year, Chin Ho Kelly was the one who had been the victim if it. McGarrett had found a copy of Chin Ho's service orders and had talked a friend of his into creating a phony, but believable, draft notice. The draft notice had the others in the office working hard to clear up the obvious mistake. When McGarrett revealed that the notice was only an April Fool's prank, Chin Ho vowed McGarrett's turn was coming.

"To bad we can't think of something good enough to play on him," Kono added.

"Hmm, maybe we can. I'm getting an idea on how we can even the score. Come on, let's get to these waves right now. I'll explain my idea while we're having some fun."

"Bruddah, I hope you know what your doing. The boss can be tricky when you're trying to pull something over him," Kono said with a worried grin.

Both of them got on their boards and were paddling out so they could start catching waves. They had paddled to the back of the sets, where Dan continued with his idea.

"Remember when Steve went to get Nicole Wylie, he was involved with that shoot out with the Chief of Police in Singapore."

"Yeah, but, he was cleared of the charges when it was discovered the guy was a crooked cop," Kono countered.

Right then a wave came by they both couldn't pass up. Paddling furiously, they both caught it. Dan did a cut to the top and as he came back, he lost his balance and went into the wave. Kono rode the wave a bit further. He wasn't as daring as Dan was for doing fancy cut backs. Kono was finally caught inside curl, but then he too wiped out. Both paddled back to their waiting spot for another wave.

"As I was saying, what if there were new charges brought against him, like for registering under false names on the ship? I have a friend at the port that knows the skipper of that ship. I think I can convince him to file some paperwork against Steve on this. I know Nicole would work with us on this also, remember Steve got her three years ago while she was visiting him." Dan said. He knew if he was going to get McGarrett, it was going to take the combined efforts of everyone in the office and some outside friends. If this went off, it would be a great April Fool's gotcha on McGarrett.

"I don't know Danny. It won't be easy to pull anything over him. "

"This is going to need to be a combined effort from all of us if we're going to pull this off, Kono."

"I think we're in for some big pilikia if it doesn't work."

"I still think if we all get together on this it will go off great. I'm going to see if Chin and Duke will help out too," Dan said.

Dan was trying to sort out some ideas in his head when a great set of waves came. The rest of the afternoon, the two men concentrated on their surfing.

*****

It felt so unusual to Dan to have two days off in a row. Since he had the time, he decided to put his plan into action early Sunday morning. He hoped Nicole Wylie would be home. She lived in San Francisco now so it was almost noon her time.

Nicole was trying to open the door. Having gone shopping, her hands were full when she heard her phone ring. Rushing more, Nicole finally dropped the packages on the floor. Finally getting the door open, Nicole rushed over to the phone, "Hello!" she said breathlessly.

"Nicole, Nicole Wylie! Aloha, this is Danny Williams. Remember me?" Dan asked her.

"Aloha, yourself, Danny. How's things in Hawaii?" Nicole answered.

"Believe it or not, it's a little slow right now. Looks like Steve and I have scared away all the bad guys," teased Dan. "What I'm calling for is to ask you to do a favor for me. How would you like a paid Hawaiian vacation for a few days, Nicole?"

"Something the matter Danny? Has Steve been hurt?" Nicole asked concerned.

"No, Steve's not hurt and nothing is wrong. What I want you to do is to help me pull an April Fool's joke on Steve. You know how he's always pulling one on someone in the office, well, I think it's his turn to have a joke pulled on him."

"Just what are you planning, Danny. You know Steve's pretty smart. I don't know of anyone being successful in putting anything over him," Nicole reminded Dan.

"Yeah, but if we work it right, I think we can. Kono is going to help out too. I haven't talked to Chin Ho yet, but he was the recipient of last year's joke. I'm pretty sure he will want to be in on it. I know he wants to get even with Steve for it," Dan told her.

"OK, I've got some vacation time coming. Just what do you want me to do?" Nicole asked.

"You'll come then?"

"Sure, it will be fun to try to pull something over on Steve."

"Good. I've some more planning to do. I'll arrange for a ticket for you. I'll call you as to what flight it is. I'd like you to arrive the day after tomorrow if you can. I've got to go now. Need to make some more contacts and get this thing started. Aloha, Nicole."

"Aloha, Danny. I'll clear my books to allow me to stay over this week." Hanging up, Nicole smiled to herself. Oh, how funny this was going to be. What a surprise he was going to be in for.

*****

Dan felt he needed to talk directly with Chin Ho about his plan. He figured that the oriental detective would jump at a chance to get back at McGarrett for last year's prank. It was almost comical when he thought back to how McGarrett had arranged to have Chin receive a draft notice. Steve had Chin Ho running all over the Island trying clear up the obvious error. He remembered Chin Ho's words 'One of these days Steve someone is going to get even with you. Boy I'd love to be there when it happens.' he remembered how McGarrett told him 'Never, Chin, never. I'm always one step ahead of all of you.' How he wanted to make McGarrett eat those words even if they were said in jest.

Parking his Mustang in front of Chin Ho's home, Dan walked up to the front door. Just as he was going to knock on the door, it opened. Out ran Tilda, Chin Ho's youngest daughter, who tripped and fell as she bumped into him. He reached down and helped her up. "Hey, you the reception committee?" he asked the youngest of the Kelly family.

Before Tilda could answer, Dan heard Mrs. Kelly calling out for Tilda. "She's out here with me. Anyone home?"

"Oh, Hi, Mr. Williams. Come on in. Chin's in the back. I'll get him for you."

"If it's OK with you, I'll go out there instead. I need to talk to him."

"Sure, you know the way," Mrs. Kelly said as she made sure the Tilda was OK.

Dan held the door open for them as they went into the house. The two oldest children of the Kelly clan were sitting on the couch watching TV.

"Hi, Mr. Williams. Here to see Dad?" Susie asked him.

"Yeah, I've got a question for him."

"He's in the back yard," Tim told him. "You want me to get him?"

"No, I'll go out to see him." Dan said as he walked through the house to the back door.

Opening the back door, Dan found his friend working in his water garden. Chin was in the middle of the pond arranging the new plants he had bought the day before. Hearing the back door open, Chin looked up expecting one of his family. "Hey, Danny. I thought you would be at the beach surfing today."

"Kono and I went yesterday, Chin. Sunset had some awesome waves. Kono had other things to do today and I decided to start early on an idea of mine."

"Yeah, like what?" Chin Ho asked.

"Did you ever get all the paperwork worked out on your draft notice last April Fool's?" prompted Dan.

"Yeah, I finally got everything cleared up last December. I'm going to present Steve with a bill when I finally get the costs added up. You wouldn't believe all the paperwork it took to clear up his little prank. I told him, that someday I'd get him back. That guy can be a real bugger at times," Chin Ho said.

"How would you like to get even this year, Chin?" Dan asked him.

Chin Ho's eyes widen and a smile came across his face. "You got an idea on how to do it?"

"Yeah. You remember when Steve had to go to Singapore to bring back Nicole Wylie to testify and while he was there he had to list them both under false names to get on board. I was thinking. Since you said Paul Wong, your uncle, knows the captain of the ship maybe you could contact him to put in a complaint of registering under a false name to board a ship going into International waters. We would have him running in circles trying to take care of it."

"I've also contacted Nicole Wylie. She's in on the joke too. He'll question Nicole, who just happened to be visiting him, to confirm that Steve used the fake names. We'll have her admit he registered them both under false names with no passports."

"You realize when Steve finds out it's all a joke, he'll be coming after you," Chin Ho said smiling. "I wouldn't want to be in your shoes when he does, bruddah."

"Yeah, but it will be worth it if a joke was finally pulled over him. It's his turn."

"You're going to need a lot of people conspiring with you to pull this off right. Steve's no dummy," Chin Ho warned.

"I know, but if I can get all bases covered, it should work. I've got to contact the Governor also so he can slow up any inquiries coming from Steve."

"Yeah, I'd also get Duke in on this too and maybe even Jenny. She can really run some interference for you," Chin Ho suggested.

"I was going over to Duke's right after I talked to you. So you're in on it then?"

"Yeah, count me in. You're right, it's Steve's turn for an April Fool joke to be pulled on him."

*****

Dan was unable to make contact with Duke on Sunday. Anxious to make sure Duke would want to help out, he waited by his car until he saw the HPD officer pull up. Duke had helped out in several of Steve's pranks and he thought it was about time that he helped out pulling this one on his old friend.

Duke's HPD cruiser finally pulled up. Seeing Dan standing next to his car, Duke walked over to him. "Hi, Danny. You waiting for me?"

"Yeah, Duke. I wanted to talk to you before you got started today," Dan told him.

"What's up?" Duke asked.

Dan explained to Duke what he had in mind for April Fool's Day. Duke liked the idea. "It's about time someone evened the score with him," Duke said.

"Good, I could use your help to set this thing up. I've yet to talk to the Governor to see if he will go along with it. Kono, Chin & Nicole Wylie are…"

"You got Nicole in on this too? What did you do call her?" Duke asked Dan.

"Yeah, I called her early Sunday morning. She's keen for the idea too. I told her I'd foot the bill to get her to play her part in it." Dan was thinking of how sweet it was going to be when at last the tables were to be turned back on McGarrett.

"OK, count me in. Let me know what I can do. I've got to get going now, staff meeting you know and I can't be late for it," Duke told him.

*****

Dan walked to the office after talking with Duke. Jenny was getting a cup of coffee for Steve. "Good morning Jenny!"

"Good morning Danny. How was surfing this weekend?"

"Really good. Kono and I were able to catch a lot of great waves. Hey, I need to talk to you for a moment when you're free," Dan told her.

"Sure Danny. Is something up?" Jenny questioned the second in command.

"Just something I need you to do for me. Also, could you call the Governor for me and get me an appointment for this morning?" Dan asked.

"Sure. I should have a free minute or two at my morning break."

"Hey, that would be great. See you then. Steve inside?"

"Yeah, I just gave him his first cup of coffee. He's was just going over the mail when I left."

Before going over to the door, Dan poured some coffee for himself and then knocked before opening the door. McGarrett was sitting behind his desk going over the morning mail. "Morning, Danno. Did you have a good weekend?" McGarrett asked.

"Yeah, Kono and I were able to catch some really great waves. The storms from up North had caused the sets to be almost perfect. Did you get to your beach house finally?"

"I finally got there about 10 PM Friday." McGarrett had bought the beach house from Doctor Bergman shortly after his ordeal with the Vashons. It seemed that whenever he tried to take time off, something always came up. "It looks like we could have another quite week. The only thing to come across my desk is a note from the Governor. I'm having a meeting with him later this morning about it."

"Did he say what it was about?" asked Dan.

"Not really. He did mention I might need to go back to Singapore for something, but he didn't specify what it was about. I guess that's what the meeting is all about," McGarrett told his friend.

"How are the regular assignments going? Anything yet on the Anderson murder?" McGarrett questioned Dan.

"I might have a lead on it. It appears a shopper might have seen a man arguing with Anderson prior to his death. We're trying to locate the shopper," Dan told him.

"No easy job there. It could have been a tourist who has already left. Well, keep me informed. If the tourist has left we'll need to find out where they've gone and get a extradition papers to bring them back to testify. Anything else?" McGarrett said as he got up and walked to the window.

"We're finishing up on some smaller cases, but other then those, nothing Steve. Like you said it looks like it's going to be another slow week for us."

Turning away from the window, McGarrett said with a sigh, "OK, keep me informed on them. Tell Jenny I need the Singapore File folder will you." McGarrett turned back to look out at the Iolani Palace Park below. He didn't want his friend to see the smile on his face.

*****

Jenny had just come out of McGarrett's office when Dan walked up to the coffee tray set up behind her desk. "I have that free moment you asked for Danny."

"Great, let's go out to the park for a moment. I don't want Steve to overhear us."

They walked out to the big banyan tree in the park. There they sat down on the bench. Dan explained his idea for the April Fool joke he wanted to play on McGarrett.

"Are you sure this will work? You know how Steve is about figuring out things. It could back fire on you," Jenny told him. She like Dan's idea but was concerned it would leak out to her boss.

"I think if everyone does their part, it should go over really big and finally it will be Steve's turn to be fooled."

"I'll do what I can Danny. I called the Governor for you. You can meet with him at 1:30 PM today. He should be agreeable to this also. Remember when Steve got him. Boy, I thought for sure the Governor would fire him for that one," Jenny said remembering how McGarrett had fixed the Governor's golf clubs so that whenever he took a swing, something would go wrong with the club, either the head of the club came off or the rubber handle on the shaft would come loose. McGarrett had even arranged for some golf balls to be off balance so they couldn't fly straight and true.

At 1:30 PM Dan met with the Governor. The Governor was more then agreeable to assist him. "I'm still paying for those new clubs. Steve owes me for that one."

Dan made the final arrangement for the joke by arranging for the plane ticket and hotel reservations for Nicole Wylie. She would arrive early the nest morning. Dan would pick her up and take her to the hotel. He didn't want McGarrett to know yet that Nicole was in town. He would fill her in on everything and then they would all have to wait for the next day. Everything was set for April 1st.

*****

The morning of April 1st McGarrett was surprised by a knock on his apartment door. Opening the door he found Nicole Wylie standing there.

"Hello, stranger. You going to let me stand out here all day or are you going to invite me in for breakfast and some coffee?" Nicole asked him.

Smiling back at her, McGarrett opened the door wider and escorted her to the kitchen where he was just starting to get his breakfast. "You still take it black?" McGarrett asked.

"You know it Steve. How's things with you?"

"You talk like we haven't seen or talked to each other in a long time, Nicole. What's up?"

"Oh, nothing. I just thought I'd take a little vacation and come visit you. As you know I'm looking for a new location for another restaurant and thought I'd combine a business trip with a little vacation and come see a good friend of mine," Nicole said as she accepted the coffee from Steve.

The two of them reminisced about the first time they met. Nicole wasn't sure then that she was going to have a future, but McGarrett had convinced her that she had.

"I'll try to finish up early today. We can go out for dinner and maybe…"

"Oh, you smooth taking man, you. Trying to proposition me now are you. You know that you could get into trouble by bribing a witness," Nicole teased.

Reaching over the table, McGarrett took her hand. "I'm not bribing you pretty lady, I'm asking you for a dinner date and, well, who knows what else the night will bring. You game?" McGarrett teased back.

"Yeah, I'm game. You're sure it won't interfere with any of your plans for today?"

"No, if everything goes as I think it will, I should be done well before dinner."

Getting up, McGarrett picked up the dishes. "I've got to go to the office. If today is anything like yesterday, it should be a slow day, pending unseen items happening." He bent down and took Nicole's head in his hands. He gave her a kiss. "How did you get here, by taxi?"

"No, I rented a car for my stay. I've got some errands to do today. What time should I be ready for dinner?" Nicole asked.

*****

The morning started as normal for the Five-0 office. After meeting that morning with his men, McGarrett left for a meeting with the Governor. Dan was standing next to Jenny's desk when phone rang, "Hello, Hawaii Five-0," answered Jenny.

"This is Mr. Simpson with Immigration. Is Mr. McGarrett in?" the voice on the phone asked her. "I need to talk to him about an urgent international incident."

"With Immigration? Well, Mr. McGarrett isn't here right now. He should be back in about a hour," Jenny informed the Immigration officer.

"Then why don't I come to his office at that time," Mr. Simpson told her.

"I'm sure he'll be able to talk to you then, Mr. Simpson," Jenny said.

"OK, I'll be there in an hour to talk to him," Mr. Simpson replied.

"What was that all about?" Dan asked Jenny. He had heard her mention something about immigration and it caught his ear.

"Mr. Simpson from Immigration wants to talk with the boss about some international incident of some sort. He's going to be here in an hour to talk to Steve about it."

"International incident? I wonder what is going on?" Dan said.

"I don't know he didn't give me any other information other then that it was urgent that he talk with Steve," Jenny told him.

Forty minutes later, McGarrett returned to the office. Jenny informed him about the call and the request for a meeting with him on it. Dan followed McGarrett into his office to ask if he knew what Mr. Simpson might be wanting to talk about.

"I'm not exactly sure Danno, but if it is what I think it is I'll need the Governor here too." Pushing a button on the phone, "Jenny, can you call the Governor and tell him that Mr. Simpson will be here in about ten minutes or so and that I'll need him here. Also call John Manicote, I'll need him in the meeting too."

"Right, Boss," responded Jenny.

"Why Manicote and the Governor? What do they have to do with this?" asked Dan.

Smiling to himself, McGarrett thought back those four years when he had to go to Singapore to bring back Nicole Wylie to testify. He was also thinking of something else, but the present situation demanded that his thoughts be turned else where for the moment.

Mr. Simpson was right on time, exactly one hour, as he said he would be there. John Manicote and the Governor walked in a few minutes later. Introductions were made and they all took seats in front of McGarrett's desk.

"Now, Mr. Simpson, what can I do for you?" questioned McGarrett.

"I need to talk to you in regards to an incident a few years back, Mr. McGarrett. It was during the time you had to go to Singapore to bring back a witness, one Nicole Wylie, to testify in a murder trial. You registered yourselves illegally under the name of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Collins. Since this was on a ship going into international waters, I need you to show cause for the false identities and why you didn't have a passport for Ms. Nicole Wylie."

Dan couldn't believe his ears, here was his April Fool's joke becoming real. Was there really an international incident here just because of the false names being used on a supply ship? Surely someone has some wrong information somewhere. He couldn't believe McGarrett was going to be brought up on charges for such a thing. People travel all the time under phony names.

"Steve, can you explain that to this man? If what he's saying is true you could be in a lot of trouble," asked the Governor.

"Surely, you're wrong Mr. Simpson. I've never heard of such a law before," John Manicote asked the Immigration officer.

"I assure you, Governor Jamison and Mr. Manicote, these charges are very real. The US government takes a dim look at those traveling in International waters under false names. I need proof that Mr. McGarrett didn't smuggle Ms. Nicole Wylie into the US illegally. She had no passport after all, no way to prove she's a legal resident of the US."

McGarrett had been sitting back in his chair listening and watching the three men and his friend Dan. McGarrett didn't say anything yet. He sat with his hands clasped together with the index fingers pressed against his lips in concentration with his eyebrows raised.

Jumping up out of his chair, Dan stood in front of Mr. Simpson, putting himself between McGarrett and this man that was accusing McGarrett of smuggling an illegal alien. "Mr. Simpson, Steve had to go to Singapore at the request of Ms. Wylie to escort her back to Hawaii to testify in a murder trial. While he was there the Chief of Police there attempted to kill them both. It was during the fight that Steve's papers were lost and that when he had to defended Ms. Wylie and himself against the Chief that the Singapore Police Chief and the Sergeants were killed," he tried to explain.

Standing up to face Dan face to face, Mr. Simpson told him firmly, "Then I'll need to question this Ms. Wylie to confirm this information. If it was as you said, then there will be no problem. If she can't confirm this, then Mr. McGarrett will be facing some very serious charges."

"I can have Ms. Wylie here in about an hour," Dan told him as he took a quick look at McGarrett and then looked back at Mr. Simpson.

Going to the door, Mr. Simpson firmly said to men in the office, "Good, then we can clear this up once an for all. I'll be back in one hour then to question Ms. Wylie. Good day gentlemen." With that, he left the office.

Turning back to face his friend, Dan said "Steve, don't worry. I happen to know Nicole is here on the Islands already. I'll get her and have her clear you of this."

"How do you know Nicole Wylie is here Dan? I haven't talked to her in quite a while. Last I knew she was still in San Francisco," McGarrett asked his friend.

Squirming, Dan knew his joke was falling apart. This was serious, definitely no joking matter. "I just know she is. I can't explain right now, Steve, but I'll go get her for you." With that he turned quickly and ran out of the office.

The three remaining men didn't say anything, but smiled to each other. After a moment McGarrett made the suggestion that they go to his apartment to wait out the hour.

*****

Dan raced to the hotel where Nicole was staying. Going to her room, he knocked on the door. When no one came to the door, he went back down to the reception desk, "Pardon me, but did Ms. Wylie say where she might have gone. She's suppose to be in Room 1081 but no one answers the door."

"I'm sorry. She told me that something came up and she couldn't stay. She's checked out Mr. Williams."

"What? When was this? What time did she leave?" Dan asked not believing what he heard.

"Ms. Wylie checked out around ten this morning. She said she could catch a plane that left at eleven if she hurried," the clerk told Dan.

Dan couldn't believe what he heard. What could have happened that was so urgent that Nicole would leave without telling him. Thanking the clerk, he raced to his Mustang and drove to the airport. Sure enough a plane had left with her name on the registry at eleven that morning. "My God. What am I going to do? Steve's going to be in big trouble now."

Racing back to the office, Dan ran into the office. Jenny wasn't at her desk at the moment so he went to the door and knocked before going in. No one was in the office. Turning around quickly, he saw Jenny coming back into the office.

"Jenny, where did they go? I thought they were going to stay in Steve's office."

"I'm not sure, but I know the Governor had to get back to his office. They might have gone there," Jenny told him.

"Thanks, Jenny," Dan said as he sprinted out of the office towards the New Territorial Building where the Governor's office was.

Dan ran all the way to the Governor's office, there he asked Maggie, "Did Steve McGarrett and John Manicote come in with the Governor?"

"Yes, they did, but they left to go to Manicote's office just a few minutes ago."

'Damn, I missed them again.' Dan thought to himself. "Thanks Maggie. If they come back can you have Central call me? I've got to reach them. It's urgent."

"Sure, Mr. Williams. I'll tell them you're looking for them."

Running out of the Governor's, Dan ran down to the main floor where Manicote's office was. Breathlessly, he asked Patty, Manicote's secretary, if they were here.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Williams, but they said they had to go down to HPD booking, something about paperwork for Mr. McGarrett."

Resting a hand on the desk, Dan stood there for a moment trying to catch his breath. He couldn't believe that they had already taken McGarrett down to be booked. Shaking his head in disbelief, he straightened up. "Can you tell them I'm trying to find them if you see them again?"

"Sure, Mr. Williams."

*****

Not sure just what to do next, Dan returned to his office. "Any word from them Jenny?"

"Nothing Danny, except a messenger brought this note over to the office for you," Jenny said as she handled the envelope to him. Jenny was finding it extremely hard to keep a straight face as she saw the worried look appear on the young detective's face.

Tearing open the envelope, Dan quickly read the note. Without saying a word to Jenny, he raced out of the office to his Mustang.

When Dan had left the office, Jenny finally broke down laughing so hard she thought she'd fall off her chair. Getting herself back together, Jenny picked up the phone and dialed a number.

"Yes!"

"He's on his way. God, I wish I could be there. Have fun."

*****

Dan didn't understand the message completely. It merely said that he needed to go to McGarrett's apartment to get some items for him. Nothing more. It didn't explain why these items were needed.

When Dan got to McGarrett's apartment complex, he pulled his Mustang into McGarrett's parking spot. Running to the lobby, he took the first elevator up to McGarrett's apartment. There he used his key to open the door.

Running into the apartment, Dan stopped dead in his tracks. There he found McGarrett, the Governor, Manicote, Nicole and Mr. Simpson sitting in the living room. His lower jaw dropped with amazement. Now he was putting two and two together. Just as he was going to respond with a demand as to an explanation, Chin Ho, Kono and Duke walks in from the kitchen.

Everyone says out loud "April Fool's Danny. Gotcha!"

*****

When everyone quit laughing, McGarrett stood up and handed Dan a drink. "Danno, what ever gave you the idea that you could ever pull anything on me?"

"I thought I had it all arranged. Everyone was in on it. They agreed that this would be a perfect April Fool's to get you on. You know it's your turn. You've got everyone. Now you've got me twice."

"I really had you going didn't I Danno? I knew something was up when Nicole called me saying she was coming to visit. It didn't take much to get the whole plan out of Kono. I then got out the rest from all the others. You didn't stand a chance, Danno."

"My two weak links in my plan. I should have known I couldn't get you. But someday, Steve, someday someone IS going to get you. Your luck can't last that long."

"You should know that, as long as I have the good friends here, Danno, never, and I mean never, will anyone ever be able to get me. You of all people should know that, Danno," McGarrett said with a smile.
