Jack of All Trades

from TV Times ( Australia ) - July 7, 1971

There's a lot more to Jack Lord than a craggy face and stardom in the series, Hawaii Five-0. A close look at him spotlights a man of amazing versatility.

There's Jack Lord, athlete, who went through New York University on a football scholarship. There's Jack Lord the steel worker, who spent 14 months in Iran building roads and bridges: and Jack Lord the photographer, whose picture stories have appeared in U.S. magazines and who is illustrating a book he wrote with color pictures he's taking himself.

There's Jack Lord, writer, who tapped his own experiences on merchant ships to create Tramp Ship, a TV series he's sold to producer Don Fedderson. Most people know Jack Lord, actor, from numerous movies, TV shows and series including Stoney Burke and Hawaii Five-0.

Last but not least is Jack Lord the artist of some renown. He majored in fine arts at New York University. Three of his woodcuts and two of his lithographs have been bought by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Awarded the St. Gaudens Plaque, Lord's paintings have been exhibited in the Corcoran Gallery, Washington, the National Academy of Design in New York and represented in more than 40 private collections.
